Gas Testing Kit

Siloxanes Analysis

Siloxanes are measured by a special analytical procedure run from a Tedlar bag gas sample. After the sample is taken, it is sent to the laboratory via overnight express. Results are usually available in 7 to 8 working days.

Inorganic and Organic Sulfur Species

This is an AFT specialized test that is necessary for the design of treatment systems ahead of processes that are sensitive to sulfur. This test determines the level of H2S, mercaptans, sulfides, disulfides, thiophenes and other species present in digester gas. This information is required to perform a critical examination of the gas for the proper treatment system design. Results are usually available in 7 to 8 working days.

Volatile Organic Compounds + Non-Methane Organic Compounds

VOCs are measured by a specific analytical procedure that identifies and quantifies the concentrations of over 300 different organic contaminants including the NMOCs. From the VOC analysis, AFT can develop a robust treatment equipment design and estimate the annual O&M costs. The VOC analysis enables AFT to spot problem areas and incorporate these into the overall treatment system design. This is helpful in determining the mass balance on the VOCs reported in the other tests. It also helps to determine the validity of the sample.

Major Gas Constituents

The major gas constituents test determines the presence and concentrations of the "permanent gases" contained in the digester gas sample. The major gases are methane, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, nitrogen and oxygen.
